1) WARRANTY PERIOD AND COVERAGE

Subject to compliance with all terms and conditions of this warranty, the warranty provided by AUTO SUPPORT SERVICES (PVT) LTD (AUSS) shall be valid for the warranty period specified for the particular vehicle, being 2 Years or 3 Years, or for a maximum of 100,000 km of vehicle usage calculated from the recorded export mileage, whichever occurs first.

For the purpose of determining the mileage limit, the vehicle’s recorded export mileage shall be treated as the starting mileage of the warranty, and the warranty shall continue for a maximum additional distance of 100,000 km from that recorded mileage.

The warranty period shall commence from the date the warranty is activated by AUSS following registration of the vehicle with AUSS. Coverage is limited to the Engine, Gearbox/Transmission and Hybrid Battery, subject to the applicable covered components, exclusions, limitations and conditions.

Reaching either the applicable time limit or mileage limit shall automatically end the warranty. The warranty period or mileage entitlement shall not be extended, suspended or restarted due to inspection, diagnosis, repair, parts sourcing, parts importation, customs clearance, logistics arrangements or temporary inability to use the vehicle.

2) WARRANTY REMEDY - REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT

Where a failure is accepted by AUTO SUPPORT SERVICES (PVT) LTD (AUSS) as a valid warranty claim, AUSS shall determine the appropriate remedy after inspection and diagnosis. The remedy may include repair, reconditioning, replacement of the defective component, or replacement with a suitable equivalent component, at the sole discretion of AUSS based on technical suitability, availability and economic feasibility.

A warranty claim does not automatically entitle the vehicle owner to a brand-new component or complete assembly. Where technically appropriate, AUSS may use new, used, reconditioned, remanufactured or equivalent parts that are considered suitable for the vehicle.

3) PRIOR APPROVAL FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS

No inspection, dismantling, repair, replacement, alteration or other warranty-related work may be commenced without the prior authorization of AUSS.

The vehicle owner must notify AUSS of any suspected warranty-related defect and allow AUSS a reasonable opportunity to inspect, diagnose and determine the appropriate course of action.

Any repair, dismantling, replacement or other work carried out without prior written or recorded approval from AUSS, whether performed by the vehicle owner, dealer, garage, agent or any other third party, may result in the relevant claim being declined and may affect the continuation of warranty coverage where such unauthorized work affects, damages or prevents proper assessment of a covered component.

AUSS shall not be responsible for reimbursing costs incurred without its prior approval.

4) AUTHORIZED SERVICE AND REPAIR FACILITIES

All periodic servicing, warranty inspections, diagnoses and warranty repairs must be carried out only through service stations, workshops or repair facilities approved or authorized by AUSS, unless AUSS provides prior written authorization for another facility.

The vehicle owner shall not independently select or appoint a workshop for a warranty-related repair and subsequently request reimbursement from AUSS.

AUSS reserves the right to determine the service station, diagnostic facility, repair facility, specialist or authorized agent to which the vehicle must be presented for inspection or repair.

Failure to follow an AUSS instruction regarding inspection, diagnosis or repair may result in the relevant warranty claim being declined.

5) WARRANTY CLAIM ASSESSMENT AND TECHNICAL DECISION

The existence of a fault, warning light, abnormal sound, vibration, fluid leak or other symptom shall not by itself establish that a valid warranty claim exists.

All warranty claims are subject to inspection, diagnosis and technical assessment by AUSS and/or a service provider, authorized agent, manufacturer representative or specialist appointed by AUSS.

AUSS shall determine whether the reported failure:

  • relates to a component covered by this warranty;

  • occurred during the applicable warranty period;

  • resulted from a warrantable mechanical or electrical failure;

  • is connected to normal wear and tear, accident damage, misuse, external influence, improper maintenance, unauthorized repair or modification; and

  • otherwise complies with the terms and conditions of this warranty.

Approval of a warranty claim shall only occur after AUSS completes or accepts the required technical assessment and confirms the claim as eligible under the warranty terms.

6) COMPULSORY PERIODIC SERVICING

The vehicle must be serviced on or before every 5,000 km or 3 months from the previous service, whichever occurs first.

Exceeding either limit constitutes a breach of the warranty conditions and invalidates all warranty coverage, including the Engine, Gearbox/Transmission and Hybrid Battery, regardless of which maintenance item was delayed.

The vehicle owner is responsible for monitoring service due mileage and dates. Failure to receive a reminder from AUSS does not waive this requirement.

7) FIRST SERVICE REQUIREMENT

The first periodic service must be completed at the mileage specified by AUSS for the individual vehicle.

Where the warranty documentation specifies that the first service is due 1,000 km from the recorded starting/export mileage, the service must be completed on or before that mileage threshold.

The starting mileage recorded by AUSS shall be used for calculating the first applicable service interval unless otherwise confirmed in writing by AUSS.

8) SERVICE RECORDS AND EVIDENCE

The vehicle owner must ensure that all periodic services are properly recorded in the AUSS warranty booklet and/or AUSS electronic system.

Service records may include the service date, odometer reading, service station details, inspection findings, maintenance recommendations, replaced items and any other information required by AUSS.

AUSS may require invoices, inspection sheets, service records, photographs, diagnostic reports or other supporting evidence before considering a warranty claim.

Missing, incomplete, altered, inconsistent or unverifiable service records may result in a claim being suspended or declined.

9) REQUIRED MAINTENANCE AND RECOMMENDED REPAIRS

Where an AUSS-authorized service provider identifies maintenance, repairs, fluid replacement, coolant replacement or top-up, abnormal wear, leakage, warning signs or other conditions requiring attention, the vehicle owner must take reasonable action within the time or mileage specified.

Where such recommendations are recorded in writing in the warranty booklet, inspection sheet, service report, electronic system, quotation, email or other record, failure to carry out the recommended work may affect warranty eligibility where the subsequent failure is connected to, caused by or worsened by that unresolved condition.

10) OIL, FLUIDS, FILTERS AND PARTS USED DURING SERVICING

Engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, filters and other service materials must meet the specifications applicable to the vehicle and must be supplied or approved through the AUSS-authorized servicing process.

The vehicle owner must not supply unsuitable, counterfeit, unverified or non-approved lubricants, fluids, filters or components for use during required servicing.

Damage resulting from incorrect specification, contamination, insufficient quantity, poor-quality materials or unauthorized products shall not be covered.

11) UNAUTHORIZED SERVICING OR REPAIRS

Servicing, repairs, dismantling or mechanical work performed outside the AUSS-authorized network without prior approval may affect warranty coverage.

Where unauthorized work directly or indirectly affects a covered component, prevents proper diagnosis, alters evidence of failure or contributes to subsequent damage, AUSS may decline the related claim.

AUSS is not responsible for any charges incurred by the vehicle owner for unauthorized work.

12) MODIFICATIONS AND ALTERATIONS

Any unauthorized modification, alteration, tuning, remapping, performance enhancement, wiring modification, suspension modification, drivetrain alteration, battery modification, ECU modification, aftermarket electrical installation or other change that may affect the operation, durability or diagnosis of a covered component may invalidate the related warranty coverage.

AUSS may request that an unauthorized modification be removed or restored to original specification before further warranty assessment.

13) ODOMETER CONDITION

The warranty is dependent upon the vehicle's odometer remaining functional, accurate and unaltered.

Any odometer tampering, replacement, disconnection, rollback, manipulation or unexplained mileage discrepancy may result in suspension or termination of warranty coverage.

Where an odometer has been legitimately replaced or repaired, the vehicle owner must immediately notify AUSS and provide supporting documentation so that the correct cumulative mileage can be recorded.

14) ACCIDENT, COLLISION AND EXTERNAL DAMAGE

The warranty does not cover failure or damage caused directly or indirectly by:

  • collision or accident;

  • impact damage;

  • underbody impact;

  • flood or water ingress;

  • fire;

  • theft or attempted theft;

  • vandalism;

  • road debris;

  • environmental exposure;

  • improper towing;

  • improper recovery;

  • external electrical surge;

  • animal or rodent damage; or

  • any other external event.

For vehicles previously classified or sold as accident-repaired or R-grade vehicles, pre-existing or accident-related damage to covered components shall not be considered a warranty failure.

15) MISUSE, NEGLIGENCE AND IMPROPER OPERATION

The warranty does not cover failures resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence or operation outside reasonable vehicle-use conditions.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • continued driving after warning lights or abnormal symptoms appear;

  • operating the vehicle with insufficient oil, coolant or other required fluids;

  • overheating;

  • overloading;

  • racing;

  • off-road abuse;

  • improper jump-starting;

  • incorrect charging;

  • use of contaminated fuel;

  • use of incorrect fuel; or

  • failure to stop the vehicle where continued operation may cause additional damage.

16) NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR

Normal deterioration, wear and tear, routine maintenance and consumable items are not covered unless specifically stated otherwise in the warranty plan.

This includes components whose service life is influenced by driving conditions, mileage, environment, maintenance history or normal use.

A component reaching the end of its normal service life shall not automatically be considered a warrantable defect.

17) NON-COVERED OR MOUNTED COMPONENTS

Unless specifically included in the applicable warranty plan, components attached to, mounted on or operating in connection with the engine, gearbox/transmission or hybrid system are not automatically covered merely because they are physically attached to a covered assembly.

Examples may include pumps, sensors, alternators, compressors, hoses, belts, mounts, actuators, valves, wiring, cooling-system components and other ancillary components.

Coverage shall be determined by the specific warranty plan issued for the vehicle.

18) CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE

AUSS shall assess whether damage to a covered component is the direct result of an eligible covered failure.

Damage arising from an excluded component, neglected maintenance, accident damage, unauthorized repair, external cause, continued driving after warning signs or any other excluded event shall not become covered merely because it subsequently affects a covered component.

19) PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS

The warranty does not cover defects, damage, deterioration or conditions that existed before warranty activation or before the vehicle became eligible for AUSS coverage.

AUSS may rely on auction records, inspection reports, photographs, export documents, diagnostic history, service history, repair history and other available evidence when determining whether a condition was pre-existing.

20) DIAGNOSTIC AND INSPECTION COSTS

AUSS may require inspection, diagnostic testing, dismantling or specialist assessment before determining whether a claim is covered.

Where a claim is approved, AUSS will determine which approved diagnostic or inspection costs form part of the warranty repair.

Where the reported fault is determined to be outside warranty coverage, the vehicle owner may be responsible for applicable inspection, diagnostic, dismantling, reassembly, storage or related charges.

21) REPAIR TIME AND PARTS AVAILABILITY

Warranty repairs are subject to diagnosis, approval, workshop availability, technician availability, parts availability, procurement, logistics and other operational requirements.

A warranty repair may reasonably take approximately 1 week to 4 months or longer in exceptional circumstances, depending on the nature of the failure and availability of the required parts.

AUSS does not guarantee completion of a warranty repair within a fixed number of days.

22) OVERSEAS PARTS SOURCING AND IMPORTATION

Where suitable parts are not available locally, AUSS may source parts from overseas.

The time required may include:

  • identifying and verifying the correct part;

  • sourcing a suitable new, used, reconditioned or equivalent component;

  • supplier processing;

  • overseas transport;

  • consolidation with cargo;

  • sea-freight scheduling;

  • container availability;

  • arrival in Sri Lanka;

  • customs procedures;

  • cargo release; and

  • domestic delivery.

Where sea cargo or consolidated freight is used, logistics and customs clearance may commonly require approximately 2 to 4 weeks after shipment arrival or processing, but actual time may vary due to shipping schedules, container loads, customs procedures, port congestion, government processes, public holidays or other delays outside the control of AUSS.

23) NO GUARANTEE OF PART AVAILABILITY

AUSS does not guarantee that any particular component will be immediately available locally or overseas.

Where an identical component cannot reasonably be sourced, AUSS may use a technically suitable equivalent, reconditioned, remanufactured or used component where considered appropriate.

The final repair method and component selection shall be determined by AUSS after considering technical compatibility, availability and the nature of the claim.

24) CUSTOMER TRANSPORT AND ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE COSTS

AUSS shall not be responsible for the vehicle owner's personal transportation costs while the vehicle is undergoing inspection, diagnosis or warranty repair.

Unless specifically approved in writing by AUSS in advance, the warranty does not cover:

  • taxi or ride-hailing charges;

  • public transport costs;

  • rental vehicle or replacement vehicle costs;

  • chauffeur expenses;

  • hotel or accommodation expenses;

  • loss of income;

  • loss of business;

  • loss of use of the vehicle; or

  • any other personal or commercial expenses arising because the vehicle is unavailable.

25) TOWING AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Roadside assistance or towing shall be provided only in accordance with the applicable AUSS roadside-assistance plan and its limitations.

Where a breakdown is unrelated to a covered failure, outside the applicable roadside-assistance conditions, or caused by an excluded event, the vehicle owner may be responsible for the relevant towing, transport or recovery charges.

AUSS shall determine the appropriate destination for a vehicle being transported for warranty assessment.

26) STORAGE AND FAILURE TO COLLECT VEHICLE

Once a vehicle has been repaired, inspected or otherwise made available for collection, the vehicle owner must arrange collection within a reasonable period after notification.

Where a vehicle remains at a service station or repair facility beyond the permitted collection period, storage or parking charges imposed by that facility may become the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

AUSS shall not be responsible for storage charges arising from unreasonable delay by the vehicle owner in collecting the vehicle.

27) CUSTOMER COOPERATION

The vehicle owner must cooperate fully with AUSS during any warranty investigation or repair.

This may include:

  • presenting the vehicle when requested;

  • providing keys and access;

  • providing service records;

  • providing ownership or registration information;

  • allowing diagnostic testing;

  • allowing reasonable dismantling where required;

  • providing information regarding the circumstances of the failure; and

  • complying with instructions intended to prevent further damage.

Failure to provide reasonable cooperation may delay or prevent claim assessment.

28) FALSE OR MISLEADING INFORMATION

Any deliberately false, misleading, altered, fabricated or withheld material information relating to a warranty claim may result in the claim being declined and may affect continuation of warranty coverage.

This includes falsified service records, altered mileage information, concealed accident history, concealed repairs or misleading information regarding the circumstances of a breakdown.

29) WARRANTY REGISTRATION AND ACTIVATION

The vehicle must be registered with AUSS within the applicable registration period notified by AUSS.

Where registration is required within 48 hours of the vehicle being registered with the Department of Motor Traffic (RMV), warranty eligibility is conditional upon completion of AUSS registration within that period.

Late registration may result in the vehicle becoming ineligible for warranty coverage unless AUSS expressly approves an exception.

The AUTO SUPPORT POWER WARRANTY shall commence 24 hours after the vehicle has been successfully registered with AUSS and the warranty has been activated in the AUSS system.

30) WARRANTY TRANSFER

Warranty coverage applies only to the eligible vehicle and is subject to the ownership and transfer conditions prescribed by AUSS.

Any change of ownership must be notified to AUSS and may require re-registration, inspection or approval before the remaining warranty can continue.

The warranty does not automatically transfer unless AUSS confirms the transfer.

31) WARRANTY BOOKLET AND ELECTRONIC RECORDS

The vehicle owner must keep the warranty booklet and any associated records in reasonable condition.

AUSS may maintain electronic records of servicing, inspections, communications, claims and warranty status. Where there is a discrepancy between an altered, incomplete or damaged physical record and verified AUSS electronic records, AUSS may rely on its verified system records together with other supporting evidence.

32) COMMUNICATIONS AND NOTICES

AUSS may communicate warranty information, servicing requirements, claim decisions, repair instructions and other notices by telephone, SMS, WhatsApp, email, electronic platform or written correspondence.

The vehicle owner is responsible for maintaining accurate and current contact information with AUSS.

Failure to receive a communication due to outdated or incorrect customer contact details shall not itself create additional warranty entitlement.

33) GOODWILL ASSISTANCE

Any assistance provided by AUSS outside the strict warranty entitlement shall be considered a goodwill arrangement and shall not constitute acceptance of liability, amendment of the warranty terms or establishment of an entitlement for the same or similar future claims.

A goodwill repair, contribution, free labour arrangement, diagnostic-fee waiver or other concession shall apply only to the specific case for which it is approved.

34) CLAIM DECISION DOES NOT ALTER OTHER TERMS

Approval of one warranty claim shall not waive, cancel or amend any other warranty condition.

Similarly, failure by AUSS to enforce a particular condition on one occasion shall not automatically prevent AUSS from applying that condition to a later claim.

Each claim shall be assessed separately according to the circumstances, applicable warranty plan and available evidence.

35) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the extent permitted by applicable law, AUSS shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential or commercial losses arising from a vehicle breakdown, inspection, repair delay or unavailability of the vehicle.

This includes loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of income or other consequential financial loss.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Sri Lankan law.

36) WARRANTY TERMS AND APPLICABLE PLAN

The warranty coverage applicable to each vehicle shall be determined by the warranty plan issued and activated for that vehicle.

Where different AUSS warranty programs provide different coverage periods, component coverage, limits or benefits, the terms specifically recorded for the vehicle shall prevail over general promotional or marketing material.

37) INTERPRETATION OF WARRANTY COVERAGE

Headings, examples and component descriptions are provided to assist understanding of the warranty.

Coverage shall be determined by the substantive terms of the applicable warranty plan and the technical nature of the failed component, rather than solely by the name used by a customer, dealer or third party to describe the fault.

38) CHANGES TO ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES

AUSS may update reasonable administrative procedures relating to booking, inspections, claim submission, communications, service-station allocation, documentation and electronic systems.

Such procedural updates shall not retrospectively reduce the substantive warranty coverage already granted to a vehicle, but vehicle owners must comply with reasonable current procedures when requesting future services or claims.

39) GOVERNING CONDITIONS

The warranty shall be interpreted together with the warranty certificate, vehicle-specific registration information, service records, claim records and any written endorsements issued by AUSS.

Where a vehicle-specific written endorsement expressly modifies a standard condition, the written endorsement shall apply to that vehicle.

40) ACCEPTANCE OF WARRANTY TERMS

By registering and activating the warranty and/or obtaining services under the warranty program, the vehicle owner acknowledges that the warranty is subject to these terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions and servicing requirements.

The vehicle owner is responsible for reading and complying with the warranty conditions throughout the warranty period.
